Risen, Inch & Fraser: Building Strong Legal Defences Since 1980.

We understand the impact a criminal conviction can have on your life and your family. Our law firm wants you to know that you have rights and legal options at your disposal to defend yourself against criminal charges.

Based in Oshawa, Ontario, Risen Inch & Fraser will help you protect what matters most to you through strong, solid criminal defences.

Decades Of Experience

Our firm offers one of the highest levels of legal expertise in the area with a designated Certified Specialist in criminal law on our roster.

As a boutique law firm with decades of experience, our defence lawyers deal directly with you. If you are facing challenging circumstances, we will assess the strength of the case against you. If any errors or omissions exist in the Crown’s case against you, we will find them.

A Charge Doesn’t Mean a Conviction

We believe that every person deserves a vigorous defence to the charges raised against them. Just because you have been charged with a crime does not mean it will result in a conviction.

We work towards building a criminal defence that pursues the best options for your case. We will give you all the information you need to make an informed decision about defending the charges against you.

Sean practices exclusively in criminal law, and has done so for the past 27 years. Sean obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from York University. He obtained his Law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. Sean was called to the Bar in Ontario by the Law Society of Ontario in 1996.

Sean was attracted to the area of criminal law because he believes it is, arguably, the most challenging and indeed the most interesting field of legal practice. He has conducted many trials, ranging in charges from impaired driving to aggravated assault. Sean has first hand experience at how encompassing the legal profession can become in one’s life, and that is why he pursues other interests such as playing squash, weight training and spending time with his adored cats. Sean also has a passion for reading works that are unrelated to criminal law, but which nonetheless examines important issues that are worthy of reflection.

Sean now specializes in criminal law. He is a firm advocate of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, as he believes defence lawyers are first and foremost constitutional lawyers since they strive to protect the very rights guaranteed to all Canadians by the Charter.
